Welcome
2nd ESA NEO and DEBRIS DETECTION CONFERENCE
ESA/ESOC, Darmstadt, Germany | 24 - 26 January 2023

Space safety is of growing concern for all spacefaring nations. Both, the rapidly increasing number of artificial space objects from fragmentation events and the acceleration launch rates and the near-Earth objects (NEO) population, pose a serious threat to our infrastructure in orbit and on ground.
This second ESA conference on the topic will bring together again the NEO and space debris observation communities. This international 3-day conference will focus on recent progress made by exploring the synergies between search programmes, orbit determination, and risk management for NEOs and space objects. Key aspects of synergies are telescopes and radar systems, instrumentation, observation techniques, data processing approaches, and standardisation of data exchange.
